2D drawings can look rater cluttered when everything is black, so I also support the various request to be able to assign colours and line-styles in drawings. More particularly, the usual type of orthogonal dimensioning can often lead to very cluttered drawings. I would like to have something I've called "Coordinate Dimensions". In this type of dimensioning, a datum point must first be defined - this can be anywhere the user thinks appropriate. Each point to be dimensioned is then selected and the actual dimension, in the form of (x,y), where x and y show the horizontal and vertical distances from the datum point to the specified point, is then placed as the text of a leader that points to the specified point.
The attached drawings show:
1. How colours can improve legibility of 2D drawings (TC CoorDim1), and
2. How Cooridinate Dimensions can clarify things tremendously. In this drawing (TC CoorDim2), the datum point was chosen to be the centre of the main circles.
