2D Drawing space needs to be stronger

2D Drawing space needs to be stronger

Under the 2D workspace in Fusion 360, I find when trying to detail certain things, Fusion 360 could perhaps use better features. If any of these features I am pointing out are indeed in Fusion 360, please feel free to let me know.

First thing is if you create an assembly drawing from an animation model, and then release it and save it, if later on, you add an additional component Fusion says it cannot add a balloon to that body or new component. (But it will be listed in the parts list)

Next thing is when you are making a drawing for an individual component, and that component has a radius Fusion will only allow you to simply point at the radius and that's it. You cannot continue the radius and have the dim line point to the center of the radius whilst calling out the radius dimension. Could the Fusion team implement this?

Lastly, could the user have the option if he or she wants the dimension arrows on the inside or the outside for clarity, please?

Thank you to all the Fusion Team members. Fusion is an awesome product and I am a very happy customer.

@Anonymous  I believe this is the consensus with most Fusion 360 users. The drawing environment is less to be desired. My hope is that someone from the Autodesk "Powers that Be" listen to their users and revamp the entire drawing environment. Individuals I've met, who love using Fusion 360 modeling, animation, cam, and simulation environments, have all expressed disappointment with the drawing environment. So much so, that they've  had to export their models into other CAD packages, like Solidworks, so they can complete the engineering drawing. As a fan of Fusion 360, this definitely disappoints me. I'm hoping soon Fusion 360 users will receive news confirming plans to update and revamp the drawing environment.

@Anonymous to say there is a consensus that drawings should be improved is a dramatic understatement. The Ideastation is filled to the brim with people requesting this environment be improved... its shocking how many topics are posted asking for improvements.

Yes I have a similar idea I posted a few months ago. I don't understand why this isn't priority full steam ahead? I am hoping as well being a fan overall of this platform.

@Anonymous this should be priority 1, 2 and 3. Unfortunately, it is a glaring weakness. To be honest, I would pay extra for Fusion 360, just to have fundamentally sound drawing environment.

@Anonymous @Anonymous @Garret_H With all the post on this subject, with the tagline "Gathering Support" you would think Autodesk would have enough information to dedicate the resources to improve this environment.

Additionally, saw this post. This was written 3 years ago. However, the mindset of the author was a cause for concern when referring to Fusion 360 drawing environment. I would love to hear your feedback on the matter.

Absolute nightmare of a job trying to draw (or sketch) in Fusion 360. Awesome modelling capabilities but the drawing environment and UI is clunky. Open up SketchUp, the UI is intuitive, just look at the buttons, add extensions, then draw, add construction lines, extrude, add materials, make transparent, group, make components, layer, scale...you get the drift. Add SketchUp to the front end of Fusion and sit back....showtime!
