Change Profile Surface Source-Data

This seems like it would be a common request and I hope it was not previously asked or obvious because I searched around before posting this.

ANYWAY...

I am trying to change the source data for a EG profile in a view. Is there anyway to easily change the source data surface to another surface in my drawing without having to make an all new profile object?

You can't change the source data for those.
Is it a problem to just make a new surface profile for the different surface and
then get rid of the original?

But you can add more surface profiles to a profile
view and turn off the one you do not want to see in the view properties
dialog.

First you can create a blank FG, then edit the FG surface and paste the
EG to it. Create the ground profile of the FG with profile from surface
command.
In case you have to change your existing ground you can detach the old
surface and paste the new one!

Unfortunatly, you have to do this at first!

It is not a problem at all in this case, but what if i had a bunch of labels done etc. I am still learning but you can relate pipes to your profile for minimum clearences etc. So can you reassociate pipe networks to a new profile when situations like this come up?

Ok, if you've labelled a profile then you'll have
to relabel the new one.  Pipe netoworks are not associated to profiles so
that won't be a problem.  They are associated to surfaces.

I used to overwrite profiles a lot in Civil3D 2008, just like you were mentionning. In other words, create a blank profile by layout, then edit the EG profile and Copy (overwrite) the EG to the blank layout profile.

However, it doesn't seem to work anymore in 2009.... Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
