Ability to synchronize changes from project template to projects created from it

What we've done is simply overwrite the old template with the new project to capture all of the changes. It's not ideal, but it's been working. It's better than trying to replicate all the new changes back in the template project. i.e. rebasing the template.
I would also like to see this as part of plant. also when using Vault i would like to be able to point the specs and equipment templates to a common location, this would fix 90% of my issues with syncing data.
