Allow multiple users to edit a single .dwg simultaneously similar to Google Docs

I share an office with a younger guy I've been training on preparing drawings for a few months, and he's picked it up pretty well. It's to the point that I'm happy to let him work on things on his own and then review them later. Often we find ourselves in a situation where we may only have one project to work on at a time. Most of our stuff ends up being 10 to 20 paperspace tabs with 3D models in modelspace. What would be incredibly useful to use is the ability for both of us to simultaneously edit the same .dwg so that we can equally tackle the workload.

I also think it would be immensely helpful as a teaching tool. To be able to work side by side with someone new to AutoCAD would greatly speed the learning process!

I understand it might be limited to network speed, but for people working within the same office, I doubt it would be a hindrance.

My mistake, I meant to put this under the category of standard vanilla Autocad.

its better that evey one work on a component and them combain them together for a new file

like XRF in the Autocad

Since the topic is about AutoCAD Desktop... Switch to REVIT for that ability: be aware there is a beast of a server app that needs to be installed on your higher-end server to make it all happen.

I work for a manufacture of modular homes which also builds homes for other modular home companies. Our company uses Revit so we can collaborate on the same project simultaneously, however those other companies use and send us prints in Autocad. On any given project we have 4 or 5 people working on the drawings, where one will focus on production, another other code review, or plumbing, ect.... It would be extremely helpful if Autodesk allowed multiple users to edit the same cad file at the same time or designed an interface like Revit where each user can Synchronize with a central model. We cannot bring these files into Revit because that would alter the structure of these cad files and they need to be returned to the client with all of their associative data intact (i.e. layers, sheets, ect.). I have looked into xrefs but they only seem to complicate the central issue and do not allow two or user to edit the same drawing at the same time.
