After years people loving Autodesk but Autodesk do not give hears to us. Alot of troubleshootings and ideas are here but Autodesk did not move a needle, AutoCAd Map 3D, AutoCAD Raster Design just returned (those ones had to be integrated), can not beleave that until now Map 3D can not even open Kml / Kmz from Fdo connection. Do not minimize GIS world, I think there should be also an official AutoCAD map 3D facebook page. Even on autodesk appstore there is not AutoCAD Map 3D category. I think it would be great to be able to generate a report which would include a viewport pulled from the map.   IE: User would select a device, open the feature form, and select 'Print' and then select the report to generate.   Based on a pre-determined zoom scale (ie: 400x400) the report would create a viewport within itself and zoom to the selected device automatically.   Top half of the report would be the device information. Bottom half would be the viewport pulled from the map and display model.   **A similar function can be done using plot templates, however it does take a long time to generate and the values would need to be input manually. Industry Model Explorer > Right click on feature class (point) > create feature from geometry   It would be very helpful, if the height (attribute Z) information from DWG/DXF is saved to industry model feature class. Once the Remote sensing now is crucial for all GIS workers i would like to be resolved the following assues.   1 - The results of the Image processing / Classification must be seen in AutoCAD Map task pane for exemple after making a Slope analisies in Raster Design or even after a Landuse analisies with all resulted colors so as to be edited 2 - Nasa now has Landsat 8 , more recent images with better quality, AutoCAD Raster Design can not read those images, can Autodesk see this case?     Regards Show More

When exporting attribute data to Excel, the user can decide which fields are to be exported. There should be a possibility to save the selected field settings and reuse them again for a later export. -IDEA on Industry models can connect an exernal database (for example an infraworks sqlite) with the internal industry model sqlite, who is contain in the DWG.   not just a bulk copy, but can make a view or a triggers with these external database.   -ESRI is working on the SQLITE format for replace the SDE geom, but the ESRI'S geometrical format is not the same than the FDO geometrical format. it will nice to have a connexion or a FDO provider SQLITE ESRI to make a bulkcopy for an example.   Another Idea, The Pat's List   Regards   Thanks ben Show More

As there is no ideas forum for AutoCAD, I'm adding this idea to the Map 3D forum. Hope the admins resolve the issue and move this post to the AutoCAD forum.   My idea is to develop more Mesh Modeling tools in AutoCAD.   Mesh modeling should be developed much more. Compared to other Autodesk products the AutoCAD Meshes options are extremely poor.   I think that we are missing out on modeling large 3D designs with Meshes in AutoCAD because there are no tools to increase edges, bevel, extrude edge, bridge, multi-cut, offset edge, divide edges, connect edge, etc etc etc in AutoCAD. Meshes in AutoCAD are not parametric, which makes them very precarious when wanting to make changes.   The Edge Surface, Revolved Surface, Tabulated Surface and Ruled Surface options should remove them (because they are extremely old and poor) or at least rename them because it is confusing that they are Meshes but are called Surfaces!   Actually the Meshes modeling tools in AutoCAD is something to review and improve a lot. We only have about 20 options or tools for modeling compared to 3Ds Max or Mesh where there are infinite options for modeling with Mesh, Fusion 360 itself has many more Mesh (or Freeform) modeling options.       I hope that for the following versions you can focus on this way of modeling that is very interesting but little developed in AutoCAD. When we created 3D Dwf file and opened same file in the Navisworks the transparent object layer created in Autocad is showing as solid object.
