Hi,

Try free Magic Prefs - it works perfectly (middle button, scroll, zoom, pan ...)!

Hi edenorchestra,

What do you mean "That does nothing"?

What function(s) you are  missing?

Let me clarify, MagicPrefs works fantastic.  Although I can't get rid of the middle mouse function even though its not checked in Mprefs  I use MPrefs all the time love it. What I meant was that the mouse function in ACAD is very choppy, erratic.  I am just not happy with AutoCad for Mac.  Its not smooth at all, and some of the 3 and 4 finger MPref functions do work unpredictably in ACAD>  I am though getting some support from a product specialist presently.  We shall see.

Hey did anyone notice that the spellchecker on this forum tries to spell correct "AutoCad".

Anyone else having trouble panning with the magic mouse in cad for mac? When I first installed the software it worked perfectly, then stopped working a week or two later. I tried playing with the mouse prefs and magic prefs, but nothing helped. The pan function works fine on my other mac software, so I am thinking it must be something within autocad itself. Any ideas?

I too had trouble using the magic mouse with autocad for mac.  It was jumpy, so I went back to an old tethered mouse.

I am using the Magic Mouse and it works fine.

The only tweak I had to do was reduce the speed of the zoom in preferences.

I just installed autocad 2012 on a new iMac and have also installed magic prefs. I'm not able to get a right click return/enter with the magic mouse and would be grateful for any advice on this. I may wind up using a std mouse until I get comfortable with the rest of the program unless I can get get this sorted out.

Hi,

Try to enable "Quick secondary click as Return key" in AutoCAD Preferences (General tab):

Please, could somebody tell me how to use the center axis in the magic mouse as the middle click to pan and double click for zoom extents in autocad. With the MagicPrefs all I get is the dashboard when i do click the center axis.

Select "Middle click" for "One Finger Middle Axis Click" in MagicPrefs preferences:

Yes, that's what i've done but it doesn't work. I don't know why. When i do click the center axis it goes to the dashboard. The only way i can pan is keeping pressed the space bar. But of course i can't do the zoom extents.

At the end it works. I've had to quit MagicPrefs and launch it again while the autocad is opened for it to work. I would like it to keep it configured.

Thank you very much anyway.

Maxim, excuse me. Do you know if it is possible to use the magic mouse with autocad in a windows bootcamp partition in a mac? I mean, if it is possible to configure the central axis as a center click to pan a do the zoom extend.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,

I never tried to use Magic Mouse in Bootcamp, but I googled for a short time and it appears that there is still no Windows drivers for enabling Magic Mouse "middle button"

That's what it seems. Thanks anyway. Do you know how can you pan? Can you for example configure the space bar to keep it pressed to pan with the autocad for windows or that is only possible in mac?

I think - only on Mac.

Our office was having trouble with the wireless magic mouse. When one would zoom in and out parts of the drawing would disappear until slightly zooming again or typing regen. I opened a ticket with Autodesk and they determined that there was a hardware compatibility problem that they are going to try to work out with Apple. They also said that they were using batteries like candy, and therefore most at Autodesk Support had reverted to wired mice.
