Why Deadline cannot find Arnold Plugin ?

Hi,

I correctly wrote the path to kick.exe in Deadline plugins configuration but when I launch a render on Arnold standalone instances using the right process for submitting from Maya I have this error :

1148-deadline-arnold-path-error.jpg

The log :

1149-deadline-arnold-error-log.jpg

Why is Deadline unable to find the Arnold Kick executable when I wrote the path correctly ?

I don't think the path should include the executable name.

Thanks for replying Stephen, but in every other plugins configuration the path include the executable name ;

1152-plugin-keyshot.jpg

1153-plugin-corona.jpg

1154-plugin-houdini.jpg

You're asked to choose the file directly when clicking on "..."

I added this line :

/opt/solidangle/mtoa/2018/bin/kick

as Thinkbox Support suggested but had the same error.

Works for me. I just had to set Configure Plugins > Arnold > Arnold Kick Executable

Try running kick manually, to confirm that it works.

Then run Process Monitor and see what Deadline is doing.

Going off of what @Stephen Blair said, did you set the kick path in the Arnold plugin or one of the Maya plugins? I recently set this up and it was a one shot and done, just make sure you put it in the Arnold “Release” zone.

Cheers,

Mike

Hello,

Thanks for your answers and sorry for the delay.

I was setting the kick path in the arnold plugin.

As I am using AWS Portal, intances were on Linux and not with the latest Arnold release so it was solved by adding in Deadline plugins configuration:

/opt/solidangle/mtoa/2017/bin/kick
