Optix deNoiser and Arnold Noice -why two options?

Hey there, just wondering why there are two additions that do a similar job? Is it a case of slight differences in quality and leaving it up to the user? or what are the key differences, is it just that Noice can be run externally and as a post-process? Is it to do with GPU utilisation?

Thanks!

They are two completely different options.

Optix uses the GPU and is suitable for IPR and look dev. You wouldn't use the Optix denoiser for animation.

Noice is a CPU-based denoiser that can be used for final frames. Noice is higher quality denoising that takes longer. Noice can denoise animation sequences.

Ah ok got it, so the Noice, avoids jumps in the solution, frame to frame in animation. Thanks a lot.
