3DS Max array modifier missing

I've updated my 3DS max to the most recent update and the array modifier is missing from the list. I have it as a tool but is not as efficient as the modifier.

Thanks,

I've seen a few posts about this and I have not seen a solution. I'd report it as it seems that it might be a bug. If I do see a fix I'll write back and if you find one, please post it here so others can benefit from it.

I'd encourage you to report it here:  Bug Reports:

You can uninstall Max and then install an older version. Attached is a screen shot. I can download and install Max 2023.1 if I want to. You can do the same I'd guess.

Please report it as a Bug. I listed the address above. The more people who report it the more likely it will get fixed.

Hello @tehts ,

To have Array modifier re-installed in 3ds Max 2023.3.4 SF, you can uninstall "Autodesk Advanced Modeling Tools for 3ds Max 2023"; then select "3dsmax-component-mnplugins2023-1.1.0-025.msi" from 3ds Max 2023.3.4 Security Fix installer to re-install it.  You can also get it re-installed by selecting "Modify" on 3ds Max 2023 in Control Panel, Add and Remove programs.

Please let me know if this helps.

Best regards,

Libei

Hi Libei,

Thanks for the instructions! I tried what you suggested and the Array modifier is working correctly now in 3ds Max 2023.3.5.

Really appreciate your help.

Best regards,

I have a colleague who's array modifier is missing, I've done the steps described above except that when I download Autodesk 3ds Max 2023.3.4 Security Fix I just get the three installation files: Autodesk_3ds_Max_2023_EFGJKPS_Win_64bit_dlm_00x_004.sfx

If I download the 3ds Max 2023.3.6 Security Fix I get a Zip file which contains 3dsmax-component-mnplugins2023-1.1.1-2023.3-release_006.msi but installing this doesn't seem to restore array or 'autodesk advanced modelling tools' in my installed programmes list.

I do get the error on the image attached, but only while 3DSMax is running, so I assume it's to do with access to that
file.

Could it be that the componnent which installs the array modifier was only available in the 2023.3.4 package, and it's now been removed from the download with only the security features remaining?

Any other suggestions on how to get this up and running? I've even tried a full reinstall of max (2023) using the

3ds Max 2023.3.6 Security Fix (Latest version) and still no array modifier. The installed version shows as

2023.3.6 Security Fix
25.0 - 25.3.6.385

After updating, the array modifier just gone! none of the above suggestions worked! I'm using win10 but please re-installing Max from scratch and switching to win11 are not options! A fix please!

Edit: After trying several things I've finally managed to get the Array modifier back, without losing any installed tools  etc. Here is what I did;

1-I have download the "3dsmax 2023.3 Update" from the autodesk/3dsmax page;
https://manage.autodesk.com/products/3dsmax
2-Unistalled current 3dsmax (Update 3.5 in my case) from Add or Remove Program. Don't worry nothing would be/is missing in my case, UI is the same, all tools etc. are there.
3- Unpacked the 2023.3 installation and ran the Setup from the unpacking location. (in my case maindrive/Autodesk/Autodesk_3ds_Max_2023_Win_64bit_dlm/)

Note that if you skip step 2 and you don't uninstall the current updated version (3.3.5 and 3.3.6 in my case) the 2023.3 would quickly install (probably skipping) and the current version would stay and the array modifier would still be missing.

Today is the last day of 2024, this just happened to my Max 2024. I also had a missing array modifier to me out of nowhere.

My solution was quick and easy, I updated Max to the latest 2.7 patch, it fixed the problem.

Hope this helps people in the future.
