The 'brushing' is much more coarse on the output image and I've lost some of the colour. Am I doing something wrong? I've also attached my render settings.

The issue is caused by the different resolutions you render. If the bump is too heavy VRED will apply mipmapping techniques to reduce aliasing and moire effects. This is why at your lower resolution screen the bump looks smoother than with the large resolution.

It is always a good idea to get closer to your objects for setting the bump intensities if you don´t work on a high resolution screen.

Kind regards

Michael
