Hi all,When I open GPU rendering with VRED it crashes, even though the file is an empty scene. I have updated the graphics card driver to the latest version.

14.3 = VRED 2022.3 🤔 have you considered updating VRED too? I have just checked my 2022.3 install and still works fine in gpu rt. But I´m on 2x RTXA6000

Hey brother, thank you for your reply. Do you mean to use the latest version of vred? Currently, I have the 2024 version on my computer, but I have the same problem. When I open GPU rendering, it crashes and the error message is displayed as shown below.

This is a GPU driver issue. You have two options to fix this:

1. Downgrade the driver to Version 552.22. It looks like any 555.xx and 560.xx driver no longer works with the old VRED versions on Geforce Hardware (have not tested the Quadro GPUs yet).

2. Upgrade to VRED 2025 or newer

Hi, just to add my experience: tested 2023.4 and 2024.2.1 with Nvidia driver 560.76 on a Quadro GPU (Quadro P2000 very old gpu...):

Vred 2023.4 crashes while starting GPU RT

Vred 2024.2.1 doesn't crash and GPU RT is working well.

Best

I just checked back my logs and is indeed a change in the driver that triggers the crash because of an invalid function call in an exception program (which was never called but just the existance of the code now causes the compile error and crash). This was fixed on our side in VRED 2024.1 which works fine. For all versions prior the 2024.1 you have to use a R550 or earlier driver.

Thank you very much, man, for helping me solve a major problem. It seems that this version is the problem at the moment.
