VRED 2025: switching to GPU raytracing is now much slower

I opened the VREDtestscene.vpb.  I switch to GPU raytracing.  It seems to take much longer than previous VRED versions, especially around 97% completion.  My friend tested on his gaming laptop and he has the same problem.

We are both using the latest NVidia drivers with decent RTX cards.

Is there a way to reduce the time needed to switch to GPU raytracing?

When switching to GPU Raytracing the very first time after a new VRED version has been installed, or after updating the Nvidia driver, a lot of material shaders are pre-compiled. This takes a while but it will happen only this first time, as the compiled shaders are cached on disk. After it finished once, the next time it should be fast.

There is one especially large shader that takes most of the time and that is when it hangs at the 97%. But it should be finished after a few minutes maximum.

Thank you, that was the solution.
