Hello everyone,
I'm student from Czech republic and right now I'm working on bachelor's thesis on the topic of Photorealistic visualization in automotive. One part of thesis focus on comparison of photography and renders from softwares, and one of them is VRED.
Due to coronavirus outbreak all went wrong and original plan of photoshooting in studio and getting studio HDR environment is no longer possible. Without HDR my biggest problem is to simulate environment/lighting that is in photography.
Right now I'm experimenting with Skylight environment and getting quite nice result's but it's only in VRED. So there is my question. It is possible to somehow export/save the Skylight environment as .hdr file to use it as environment in other software ?
I hope, that it is not somehow inappropriate to ask this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much.
Nikolas

Hi, why don't you use one HDRI from the asset VRED environments?
You can export the HDRI from the material menu

Hi, thank you for your answers !
I can't use HDRI from asset's because I need to replicate the environment from photography.
Because of that I'm using the Skylight for right lighting on some neutral background.
Somehow I missed the button for exporting HDRI/Skylight, that is what I needed.
I never tried to create an HDRI from a skylight env, but i think it is possible...
If you give me the exact settings of the skylight you need (Sky and Sun, location, date and time) i could try to do it.

Thank you for your offer !
But after some trial and error, thanks to your advice I managed to load Skylight env as HDRI in the other software.
I had to save Skylight as .mtd file, that file use to create Sphere environment and that save again as .hdr file.
Then just figure out how to work with the vertical cross type HDRI and done.
Best Regards
Nikolas
