Sectioning with new VRED environment

Hello ALL,

I have created a new VRED environment. This environment contains elements like planes, tables, chairs etc.

When I do sectioning using controller, it also sections these elements in the environment. How do I avoid sectioning the elements in environment? Please Help

I am using VRED 2019.3 version.

Regards,

Raghavan

I don't believe this is possible. Could you possibly render out the geometry into separate passes as a work around?

Thanks for your reply. But I could not understand "Render out into separate passes". Could you please explain to me the workaround.

Thank you.

Hi,

what do you mean with "sectioning using the controller"? Do you mean selecting? If that's the case, you can right click in the scene graph on the object(s) you want to be not selectable and uncheck the selectable entry.

Cheers,

Marcus

I think he is using the vr script from https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/vred-products/learn-explore/caas/simplecontent/content/adding... that has a clipping plane feature attached to the controller.

Ok, if that's the case then you need to use local clipping planes in your scene graph and the modeled environment must not be placed beneath such a local clipping plane. In your script you need to transfer the transformation from the controller to the local clipping plane if you want to move it with the controller.

Cheers,

Marcus
