Render Window Problem

Hello all,

A few weeks ago me my friend's Vred 2017 Render windows starts disappearing. Usually it shows white screens when I clicked something out of render window, such as material tab or scenegraph etc. or any Windows screen like explorer.

Now it is always happening. To see the model I need to rotate the model.

We are using Vred 2017 SP1.

Is there anyone having this problem? Is there any solution?

Hi,

this is caused by some Microsoft Updates they rolled out in December. We are in contact with them and they will rollout a new update fixing this issue this month (don´t know the exact date though).

You should be able to somewhat workaround it by not maximizing the VRED application. It will still happen in some situations then but far less frequently.

If you are on windows 7 you could also try to disable aero or uninstall the updates KB3207752 and KB3205394. Not sure which update number it was for Windows 10.

Kind regards

Michael

Hi,

I'm struggling with the same problem in VRED 2017 and Windows 10. Do you have any workaround or the update(number) to deinstall?

Regards!

Sadly we don´t know exactly which Update caused the issue on Windows 10 but considering the timing it is probably KB3206632 or KB3201845. However, since we are pretty close to Microsofts next Patch-Day and I really hope they don´t postpone the patchday again, it is probably worth waiting a couple more days and see if the issues get resolved by then.

Again, when you don´t maximize the VRED Mainwindow this happens far less frequently and should not prevent you from working.

I undock the render window (Ctrl+Enter) to keep it from happening.

Quick update: Microsoft has released the update to fix this issue today. I have yet to test it on Windows 7 but everything seems to work fine on Windows 10 again.

Kind regards

Michael
