HTC wireless headset while using VRED?

Hi Guys,

I am facing a problem using VRED along with wirelessly connected HTC Vive Pro Headset.

It works fine absolutely while navigating through SteamVR in VR mode, and the connection is stable. But it connection freezes immediately while trying to use VR in VRED.

  • Is this because of hardware, but i have two GTX 1080 card connected to my system? even tried with Quadro RTX 5000 but still, it freezes
  • OR is the because of huge data transfer occurring while using VR in VRED and the wireless adaptor from HTC can't handle it

Has someone ever been able to successfully use HTC wireless headset while using VRED?

Thannks for the reply, i can try to reinstall the wireless adaptor software and see if it works.

I must tell you that the wireless setup is working when being used with other application.

It just freezes while i VR in VRED. i only see black window in VR with never ending status bar .....

Have you tried not using the wireless but using a wired connection to see if that works? The wireless part should be completely invisible to any VR software, so for VRED there should be no difference between a wired and a wireless connection.

Hi Michael,

When the wireless thing failed i tried using the wired connection and then it works fine, but wanted to use the Convenience of wireless as we have the setup here.

On what hardware are you trying to run? CPU, GPU and Network card would be interesting.

There are known issues on AMD Ryzen/Threadripper systems with the Vive Wireless adapter.

Hi,

I'm working with it with VRED 2018 and 2019.2 and work fine with a lot of tris.

If you are using 2019 please be sure you choose the OpenVR option in the Display menu, not the VR Hero opstion that it's in the same pace the OpenVR option was in the 2018 release

Update: I test it with the same GPU (two 1080TI) config and works fine

Hope it helps

Hi,

It works fine from the first time, no tricks were needed ( rare 😉 ).

Those are the software versions I'm using right now

Steam client 1556574584

Steam VR 1.3.23

Vive wirelless App 1.20190410

Nvidia driver 430.39

Have you test again using Cable conected HMD VRED still working?

I had work with VRED 2018 using the wifi adapter, maybe you can test another release to check if the problem comes from the VRED, Steam or Vive

This happens to you in different computers?

Hope it helps

Yes, is the card comes with the adapter. You can try to disable other
network devices just for test.

Are you using any script in your file?

It sound really weird

Yes, installed the pci card, mounted the "antenna" over the monitor , and download the vive wireless software.
