Denoiser issue with cluster

Hello,

I'm currently try to make a cluster at work with 8 computers. But It seems that in cluster mode the denoiser doesn't work even if it's activited in the render settings.

But according to the vred documentation that should work any suggestion ?

Best Regards

The denoiser runs on the head node and not on the cluster nodes since it needs to have the full image as input. So you need a Nvidia GPU in your system at home to make it work but other than that is should work just fine. It requires more network bandwith since data needs to be transfered as 16 bit floating point instead of 8 bit but that does only affect performance.

Kind regards

Michael

Hi,

the head node has a nvidia quadro rtx 6000, all the nodes have the same configuration with 24 cores and 34 go ram.

i use vred pro 2021.1.

I read in the release notes of the 2021.3 that the fact that the denoiser don't work in cluster mode was a bug and have been fixed.

I just have to wait the 2021.3 at work.

Best regards

The old CPU Denoiser didn´t work in cluster mode before 2021.3, the new AI based denoiser should work in 2021.1 already. I just tried it in 2021.1 and it works for me so there is probably something wrong with the setup. Does GPU Raytracing with the denoiser work on your head machine without running the cluster?
