Applying a texture map on a car-paint or metall

Hey,

I have a problem puting an image/texture on a car-paint. Obviously there's no option of "Diffuse Texture", where I normaly choose an image for mapping on an object, like a logo etc. I've read something about using "layered" material and using the "Transparency option" for the material on the top. But how can I differentiate between the texture and the material, because both are getting transparent as a result?

Sorry for beeing new in this subject..
Hope someone can present a solution:)

regards

Hi,

this video from the VRED tutorials explains the Multipass material which you can use for what you want to do:
