I am working to clean up old project files. Many of the xref drawings associated with the drawings were not found. I used reference manager in order to locate a majority of the missing xref files and resolve their paths. The xref drawings that were not located are to be renamed with a new naming convention. ex: "ABC123.dwg" to "Missing ABC123.dwg". This will be applied to hundreds of drawing files, so I would like to automate the process. I have an excel table with a list of both the old and the new xref file names. Is there any way to rename the xref files using the excel data, without having to open AutoCAD. Thanks for the help.
