I get the above warning for the LWPline, Pline, and Spline object menus whenever I modify my CUI files. How do I clear these messages? I assume I need to delete the empty objects, but I can't seem to find them.

BTW, don't bother posting if your solution is to Reset AutoCAD to defaults.

I don't need OOTB AutoCAD, I want to keep what customizations we have.

It appears that your customizations may be the problem, if you refuse to discuss the solution, then you might have to live with the problem.

Off topic, I'm sorry, and this may not even apply to you, but if you are so customized that it's not easy to rebuild or reset a part of them that is not working properly, you might be in over your head.

You may carry on with your usual forum activities.

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you share your CUIx file(s)? I am happy to take a look for you. We might also consider moving this thread to the customization forum. I am happy to do that for you if you like.

Randall & Rob,

As far as I'm concerned, if your solution is to Reset AutoCAD, then you shouldn't be responding, as that offers no assistance.

I did state that my response was off topic. I was not offering a solution in any way or fashion.

As to who should or shouldn't be responding, if their solution is to reset AutoCAD. You already stated that. This is however a public forum and it's a viable solution.

Rob, so your reply was just intended to insult me then?

Maybe you missed the part where I said:

If it does apply, I'm also sorry about that.

AutoCAD 2017, but the errors have been occurring for several generations.

It still occurs in AutoCAD 2018 as well.

It might be best to move this discussion to the customization group too. Thanks.

Dean,

I can't show you anything, as that's all I get.  I can't even find the nodes mentioned in the CUIx file.

Hi @Anonymous,

I have your CUI open in my editor but I am unsure where this particular item is called from. Is it a Toolbar icon or dropdown that causes the error? Please give me some detail on how and when this error shows up so I can dig in and try to get this resolved for you.

Thanks for your patience.

The messages occur when clicking Apply or OK after making an edit anywhere in the menu.

For example, just moving one of the workspace settings above another one.

I suspect when it is recompiling the CUIx.

I have this error too because I started creating menu flyouts that don't have commands in them yet.  Look for empty menus or other items. like this:

Hope this helps.

Menu Error.png

EDIT:

If you can't find them, try selecting different .cuix files from the pulldown on the top left.  The menu I'm using is only available in the biotherm.cuix.  Does not show up even if "All customization files" is selected.

Hi @Anonymous,

I just sent you back the menu file that you emailed to me. In it, using the CUI editor, I selected the top level menu (named ACAD), rt-clicked and selected find. I searched for LWPLINE and it only found one instance in the Shortcut Menus. I selected this item (and the PLINE Object and the SPLINE Object items) and then deleted them.

I hope this action works for you as well.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

You start off claiming you don't want to discuss your customizations ""I want to keep what customizations we have."", which severely limits any possible help.  THEN you quickly provide that same customization for editing and accept that edit (changing the customizations you have) as a solution.

schizophrenic often??

Rculp,

Resetting AutoCAD does not keep customizations, so obviously, that isn't going to work.  But I'm sure trolls like you and Rob don't get it.  I'm sorry for your attitudes.

Please re-read my posts and point out which one said ANYTHING at all about re-setting AutoCAD??  I merely addressed your customizations.

The attitude issue isn't mine.
