Hey,
First post of many here, been using Autocad for a while. I have not messed with AutoLisp or Scripts very much but I understand how they work, how to apply them, and what they do. I have access to Autocad Civil 3D 2015 and Autocad Lite 2016.
I was curious as the best way to approach this problem: we are working on a project with a few other firms and in the proccess one of the firms sends us a new alignment every week or two. We have been saving that new alignment the same name as the previous one so it sees it and updates it automatically in the reference manager, but it is starting to get hard to track which alignment is the newest so I would like to put dates on the alignments. With that being said, instead of going through all the drawings and changing the refrence file manually every time we get a new alignment, is there an AutoLisp or Script or any other method that can be used to do this for me? It would essentially need to rename the existing alignment refrence file in the refrence manager to whatever the new alignment is named and do this repeatedly in 40 sheets and growing.
Thanks for any input in advance!
Patrick
