Saving BLOCK as Hatch or pat file

I am new to AutoCAD and a little overwhelmed. Any help right now would be greatly appreciated (especially if you use beginner level directions and terminology).  🙂

I found a YouTube video on how to make custom hatch patterns. It said to create a BLOCK and then use Express Tools to save it as a hatch. However, my 2017 LT program does not have the Express Tools options. So, now I am trying to figure out how to save my BLOCK pattern as a HATCH and then to my pat file so that I can use it quickly on new projects.

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Could you provide us a picture of your block... I am afraid I never used blocks for making hatch patterns, instead of creating *.pat files, there is Express Tools SUPERHATCH command which automatically array BLOCKs that are at the end CLIPPED from reference boundary... If you provide us correct picture of your block, maybe someone will be able to create and adequate *.pat file that may be more appropriate for quick and desirable hatching...
