Hello,
I have a DWG that was created by a 3rd party program, any images we use in that 3rd party software will only get exported as an external file, xref image when it creates the DWG file. What I'm hoping to do is use a Lisp or some other method to find all images (there can be more than one), query the image information (Existing Path, Position, Scale, Rotation) then use another command to insert the image(s) so it is embedded at the same place, and scale.
This way i can send the DWG file to someone without trying to handle additional files as well.

just curious, why eTransmit is not good enough?
images are similar to xrefs, they are meant to keep dwg in small size.

They may not use XREFs, or if they do but have to BIND them before shipping to delicate clients that can't imagine handling more than on single DWG file or a single project (we all have those).
If there was an easy way, I wouldn't be asking the question. Our customer expects one DWG file for each sheet of an electrical schematic. Those schematics have detailed images from various data sheets and pictures of the equipment outlining switch locations etc. They are unable (unwilling?) to accept additional files as part of the submittal. We do this manually today. Detach the image, and then paste it in.

You are going to have to purchase a 3rd party tool like the first reply to you linked to
If you tried the free-for-subscribers RasterDesign's ability
Best wishes.
