Printing without Full File Path?

How does one print a drawing without a full file path? is it a setting or does it need to be coded in? We always print to various subfolders within a folder but have to delete most of the name because it's mostly the file path and not the file name.

So how/where does this name appear exactly when you are printing? Explain and elaborate, screenshots might help explain your point too.

When we go tp Print PDF's it presets the File Name: to the full file path.

"Amyuni PDF Converter" is what we have for PDF printing and looking much deeper into the situation I believe its a converter problem. its set to Prompt for file name which the description says "The User is prompted for a destination file name. If entered, the default directory will be used in the file save dialog box"

Trying to change that setting it errors out and doesn't print anything or it prints but doesn't let me select a folder to print to.

I was looking for a way to bypass all that and print a PDF with just the saved file name with these settings.

Have you considered simply using PUBLISH command with the AutoCAD built-in PDF drivers, not your 3rd party? Layout names are used there.

There is also this tip (using built-in PDF drivers) https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/plot-to-file-default-filename/m-p/3926527#M113932

Then there are these lisps that you can tweak https://www.cadtutor.net/forum/topic/38723-printing-lisp-help/

I'll have to look into Publish, thanks for the links! At a new company, so i'm not sure why they're using a 3rd party PDF
