PC3 Files with different versions of AutoCAD

Hi everyone,

I'm working on fixing a program that creates PDFs from multiple drawings. However I have come across a weird issue. When I create the PC3 file from my computer with is using AutoCAD 2017, both A size and B size drawings orient correcty. However if I take the same PC3 file to a computer using AutoCAD 2016 (since we have a few machines that have not yet been updated to AutoCAD 2017 yet) A size drawing don't orient properly. Is there something that I need to do differently to make a PC3 file work on both AutoCAD 2016 and AutoCAD 2017?

Thanks,

AR12

Which pdf driver? Native Acad PDF driver or a system PDF driver?

Papersizes: Userdefined (pmp) or Standard papersizes(i mean ore-defined papers of driver)

Often it is not a problem between different Versions, but sometimes does.

Can you upload the pc3 pmp and both resultet pdf, + the dwg with ready for use set up pafesetup?

There are so many possible things what we csn not know about you files and enviroment. We need more infirmations in detail.
Do you have linked to the right pmp inside the pc3?

We use Nitro PDF Creator (Pro 12).

Unfortunately I cannot upload the DWG File or the PC3 files due to company policy.

What I did for the A size drawing was chose Nitro PDF Creator (Pro 12). And then clicked properties and then Custom Properties. Inside the Custom Properties I went to the PAGES tab and changed Orientation from Portrait to Landscape.

As far as linked PMP inside the PC3, I don't know anything about PMP files so I have no idea which if any are linked to it. For A Size we use Letter for the Paper Size.

I cannot find the related article or post anymore, but from what I understand is that the PDF driver used by DWG To PDF.pc3 can be/is slightly different between AutoCAD versions.

So if you have i.e. centralized your PC3 files on a network share and these are found by using this path as the first location in your printer configuration search paths for all AutoCAD versions used, it may cause problems since the .PC3 may reference the wrong driver from another AutoCAD version.

For DWG To PDF.pc3 this has also impact on using PUBLISH, as plotting in the background will not work if the wrong version of the PC3 is used. I can imagine that using the wrong .PC3 (= not the version created by and/or belonging to the used AutoCAD version) can cause other issues as well.
