Open existing drawing in ACCORECONSOLE

Greetings,

I thought I had done this before, but I am blanking on how to open an existing drawing in ACCORECONSOLE.  I have several scripts I regularly run by .bat but that's not my goal this time.  I just want to open ACC (which I have open now) then open an existing drawing, play around, save, then close.  Thanks for your input.

Console does not display dwg or support interaction. If you use a script can open a dwg do stuff including user interaction then close.

Sure it supports real time command line interaction without a script.  Try it...Open ACCCORECONSOLE, line, 1,1, 2,2, save....  Voilà, you have a new drawing with a line.

What I'm struggling with is opening up an existing drawing under similar conditions.  Open, do something, save.

Thank you.

I do not understand why not just open another dwg in the current session and do what ever, do you have sdi mode set to 1 dwg only ?

@Sea-Haven: That's what I want to do, but am blanking on the syntax to open the new drawing.

(command "-open" dwgname)

or

(setvar 'filedia 0)

(command "-open" dwgname)

Open does nothing.  -open returns unknown command.  Would really really be nice to see example syntax.  Exactly where are the quotes, parens, spaces, back slashes, forward slashes, colons...etc.. if any.  Too many combos to try.

I'm not 100%, but I believe ACCORECONSOLE is only meant to open a drawing provided at execution time. You would need to exist Console and then relaunch proving the name of the drawing. It is, again from what I understand a limited functionality load and minimal load time module to allow you to process a script on a single drawing. You can batch multiples but each item loads in a new console after the previous console exits.

Hopefully that helps

Sounds like the dwg name syntax is wrong never had a problem. Same with -Insert, use \\ as delimeter in file name, its well known that spaces in a dwg name or directory using / will often fail.

(command "-open" "d:\\myfiles\\on the server\\over here\dwg1")
