I have a dwg that I an trying to run Lee Macs lisp file layers2dwg on. When I attempt to run the lisp I get an error message that says...

** Error: Automation Error. Wblock failed **

I have run this lisp before and had success. I am trying to run it in AutoCAD 2024.  Can anyone help me?

I'm not familiar with Lee's 'layer2dwg' function(s)--so you may want to check his website for more information on how to run his program or any limitations it may have. However, speaking in general programming terms, layers/wblocks are not really related (I don't understand how wblocks and layers relate to each other). Could your error be related to something else?

Not having studied how that works, I wonder....  Could it be that some Layer has nothing on it except things nested inside Blocks?  Would it fail if it finds no top-level objects on a particular Layer that it's trying to Wblobk out?

@thomas.stansell So this is an issue in one single DWG file?

Or all DWG files?

If the problem is one single DWG file, share it here.
