Can't seem to find an answer to this CUI question. Is there a way to get a Layer Filter Combo Box/Drop Down Menu in quick access toolbar?

I'm working in AutoCAD 2018 C3D

YES.

And now the question of questions: What is your problem to do that?

a) can not find the LayerFilterCombo element in the acad.cuix?

I see you working in C3D, i have no time to search&test for you (i am just a ACAD-User), but in the acad.cuix

is a ribbon combi element available for layerfilters.

b) Or did you find the layerfilter combi element, but you have problems to place it in the quick access toolbar?

Sorry, i am in hurry.

Well, assuming that the control in my screenshot is the one I'm looking for, then "b" having trouble adding it to my quick access toolbar.

Ah i remember and tested it for you in C3D 2018 to make sure it works.

1. It is a Bug in AutoDESK AutoCAD (and verticals)

2. My Workaround solution is

    a) drag them element from <position displayed in your Screenshot> to an ribbon panel first!

    b) now you are able to drag&drop the element from there (from the position in panel)  to the QAT.

Please try this AND START A BUG REPORT

Thnks for the help. If you've got time, is there a way to get the "Layer Control" drop down into the QAT?  it opens and scrolls much faster than the "layer combo control", but CUI only lets me add it to a toolbar not the QAT or a Ribbon.

"Layer Control"? You mean the Toolbar-control element? Thats just for "real" toolbars, the old graphic user interface,

so it isn't possible.

But why not using the old toolbars, they are available, work well (accepts the icon color issue, they not change the background color by color scheme and the background isn't transparency. Not beautiful, but working).

command: _-TOOLBAR
Werkzeugkastennamen eingeben oder [ALLE]: LAYER

Option eingeben [Anzeigen/AUsblenden/Links/Rechts/Oben/Unten/VERSchiebbar] <Anzeigen>: _show

If you don't like to dock the toolbar and not like to place them outside the program window,

you can also place them hovering the titlebar or the ribbon. How to so: Place them by drag&drop while you hold the [CTRL] Key down!
