Is Customizing Hold-Shift Functionality for Multiple Commands Possible?

Hello, I am looking to change the hold-shift functionality from running the "ortho" command to running both the "polar" and "object snap tracking" commands. I am not sure if it matters but I am currently using Civil 3D, however I figured this is more of a general AutoCAD question rather than Civil 3D specific. I tried using the CUI to manually change the temporary override macro but I couldn't get it to work. It is very much possible that I incorrectly edited the macro as I only have limited coding knowledge when it comes to the languages used within AutoCAD. I was able to get it to run one of the commands at a time, however it was very finnicky and not a usable experience. I assume this should be possible to do but I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by POLAR and OSNAP TRACKING at the same time please? One has to be running in order to use the other as opposed to launching them at the very exact moment (assuming I understand your usage needs).

Are you aware you have to constantly hold down the SHIFT+button to use their function too? maybe that's why you also find it difficult.

Yes, so I am trying to have them both be active only while holding down shift. I basically want the functionality of the F10 and F11 toggle tied to holding down shift. I dislike having them on constantly because I am not always trying to snap to an angle and when OSNAP is also enabled OSNAP TRACKING can get very annoying. My issue is that I constantly use the two commands to align stuff properly. I am usually doing this in between other commands so I am having to either take my hand off my mouse to press F10 and F11 or search for the two commands at the bottom of the screen and click them individually. This adds up after doing this hundreds of times throughout the course of a day. I also rarely use ORTHO so having it tied to such an easily accessible key seems like a waste.

Please explain "align stuff properly" what are you aligning ? May be help available.

I use it to align countless things but an example might be aligning text in paper space by hovering my cursor over the insertion to get the object snap tracking line then aligning text with both the text above and the text to the left or right. In model space I might have some leaders all following a line at some angle (say 40 degrees). I can then use the same idea to get a object snap tracking line (using reference polar if needed) and ensure that all the leaders that are pointing to the line are perfectly aligned and the exact same distance at each location. It is especially helpful when I have objects that have already been drawn that just need to be cleaned up to look nice.

A mouse with more buttons and a mouse driver that allows F-keys assignments seems to be the way to go then. Lots of them out there: what are you using now?

I have a Logitech G Pro Wireless Superlight right now with the wireless charging mousepad so I never have to worry about charging it. It unfortunately only has two buttons but the combo costed over $250 so I don't really want to change mice. I also really like the mouse. I currently am using one of my mouse buttons for toggling ortho. The other one I do have set to a macro that presses F10 and F11 however the button is awkward to press due to its location. I think I will just rebind my Lalt to a macro that presses both F10 and F11. Not exactly what I was looking for but it will work good enough. I am assuming that it is not possible to do what I am asking based on the fact that you are trying to provide me with alternate solutions. Thanks for the help guys.

"when I have objects that have already been drawn "

You could do a convert objects to the same as match this one. By getting the correct the properties to match to. You hinted leaders, not sure what you were getting at with the text need a sample before after dwg.

Matchprop does some things that may be useful.
