If this can be done, let me know, and I will search out the means myself.

That said; I have several buildings in which a seating chart has been established. Because of the turn around, the names change often.

One of the people in Facilities keeps track of the people, I provide the floor plans and put in all the names when he provides them.

I was trying to find a way to link the names using Excel, straight into my drawings, without a table.

Now, is it possible, to write a LISP program, getting a set of Coordinates from Excel (with the Columns hidden and/or locked)

and then drop a name (text string) at the coordinate?

All, without a table?

Please, let me know if you Think it can be done.

Yes.  In fact, you might even be able to use a database query (it can be done with simple Excel sheets) with a datalink to pull the information directly without LISP.   For most cases you would need to keep the seat location/ID as the lookup then the facilities manager would move the names around in the data file.
