How to Change Delete Button on keyboard to A Letter. (Avoiding Erase Command)

Hello Again Family!

I delete a lot of stuff everyday and the DEL Button works perfectly and instantly.

The erase command is good but not instant like the DEL button.

Ok, with all that said, my DEL button is broken and i wanted to see if i could change it to a letter like i would in alias edit but DEL isn't showing there so i cannot change it 😞

is there a way to change this? or a lisp that works instant like DEL button function?

thanks to everyone in advanced, this forum has made my work life so much better!

Can you please provide a little more information about what works differently between the delete key and the erase command?  Delete assumes that whatever is selected will get deleted if you use the ERASE command, it works the same, except that you have to press E and Space/enter to complete the command.

no matter what key you assign the erase command to, this will be required.  You might be able to use some special software for a keyboard or mouse that remaps keys, but I'm not aware of any specific programs that can do this.

Remap F12 key or any other F key.

BTW I use a mouse gesture. Much faster than the DEL key. 😉

You mention a broken keyboard 1st they are so cheap now buy a new one, or find one, 2nd is you can get a operating system program change a key to a key, I would suggest change ` it should be top left next to 1, is on my keyboard.

It was something like keychange.exe.
