Creating a custom hatch with pattern and fill
If you have the pattern on top defined, Hatches can have background color to do the solid part:
A Hatch pattern definition cannot contain solid fill, but must be made of lines. [One could simulate solid fill with closely-spaced lines that would Plot wide enough to fill in the space between them, but that could only be in the same color etc. as the pattern-on-top elements, so the latter would not be visible.]
