Creating a custom hatch pattern :)

Hello everyone! 

I am trying to figure out this pattern:

crosses.JPG

 

My goal is to create this cross pattern by creating a pat file. 

 I have tried and tried, but haven't seen a satisfying result. So far I've come up with this:

As you can see, the trouble I am having is figuring out the vertical lines in order to have the boxed up cross figure that I am wanting. If anyone could please help, I would gladly appreciate it.

As so often when these things come up, I think this can be much simpler.  I don't have time to fire up AutoCAD to test [I need to leave soon], but see whether this does it:

 

0, 0,0, 0,.25, .25,-.25 ; tops/bottoms of all "arms"
0, .25,-.125, 0,.5, .25,-.25 ; tops/bottoms of all "heads" & "feet"
90, 0,0, .5,.5, .25,-.125,.125,-.25,.125,-.125 ; left "arm" ends, right "head"/"foot" sides
90, .75,0, .5,.5, .25,-.125,.125,-.25,.125,-.125 ; right "arm" ends, left "head"/"foot" sides

 

The origin is at the lower left corner of a left "arm."
