Change all layers inside multiple blocks to 0, with one selection?

We have received some drawings that are converted ArchiCAD that have 1000's of blocks, things like one section of straight wall is in Block named "Wall-132" or something - everything is a block.

We want to use the lines in these drawings because they apparently are accurate and comply with all regulations - no reason to change them.

But we need some control over all the layers, and the layers in the blocks are a problem. All we need to do is convert all the layers inside the blocks to layer 0.

Is there a way to do this easily? Some command that will allow me to do a mass selection of all the blocks then change the layers inside the blocks to 0? What would be the best way to do this?

Without going the customization route, it seems like you have some archicad layers you want to get rid of.  If there are fewer extra layers than blocks, consider laymrg.  Exploding the wall blocks works too. If that isn't convenient, explain more. Other options that don't involve customization are to explode the wall layer blocks or understand the archicad layering and work with it.
