Appload not loading

Anonymous
Not applicable

I just got AutoCAD 2018 installed a few days ago.

I use LISP routines a lot, so I loaded some routines and they all worked just fine. I use the APPLOAD command to load them.

All of the sudden, today, when I type in APPLOAD, nothing happens. My AutoCAD just kinda locks up.

Any ideas????

Stab in the dark --  Did the folder it last looked in [which APPLOAD "comes up" in] get moved, so it can't find it?

Well, don't know how to fix it, but in the fact you don't really need it.

If you drag'n'drop a lisp routine directly into a canvas, it will load just as good as using appload.

If you're using Appload Suite Case to permanent load, it's very unreliable in latest versions anyway, it's better to use eg. acaddoc.lsp

Thanks for the tip, but what exactly is the “canvas”…..I don’t mean to sound ignorant, just a term I haven’t heard before…😊

.... but still leaves open the question of why the command isn't working normally.  [And besides, it requires opening up Windows Explorer  or some other means of getting to where you can grab something to drag and drop into the drawing area, whereas APPLOAD (when it's working) goes right there from inside AutoCAD, if you keep all such files in the same place.]

Are you typing in just the command-alias abbreviation AP, or the full command name APPLOAD?  Could something have made a new definition of either one as a command name?  If you type in .APPLOAD [with the prefixed period/decimal-point], does it work?

I normally type "APPLOAD".
I tried .APPLOAD and it locked up as before.
There are 2 things I didn't mention earlier:

1. I removed my startup screen when opening AutoCAD (But since added it back in after thinking that is what caused the appload problem)
2. I have AutoCAD Electrical 2018, but use the standard 2D Drafting & Annotation workspace.

Sorry for the late response.
Enter in command: appload (enter)
Press windows key and arrow key left or right, then the window appload appears.
This window is somewhere on your screen
Hopefully it works with you, with me the window was gone but now it is again in the picture

Greetings Chico

I recently had this problem and I use 2 monitors, I solved it by changing the display settings by making the other screen my main display. The dialogue box then pops up as normal.

Ok in 2020 dont have 2021 anyway (load "yourlispfile") is not hard to type if the file is in a support path only need the name and not full directory. No idea why not working.
