Added Custom Command, shows on ribbon, unknown in command line

So I added a new macro command and added to the quick menu and it works great. But when I type in the command, it comes up as unknown. Is there a way to make it so I can type in the command or is it a ribbon only kind of thing?

You can define it as a custom command in AutoLisp, and you'll be able to type it in if it's loaded [you can ensure it will be in all drawings in a few ways].  You can have the quick menu item call that command name, or leave it with its macro version.
