Roundabout Arm Corridors - Vehicle Tracking 2017

Hi guys,

I have used this site forum on numberous occasions for information, but this is the first time I have needed to post.

Is anyone else having issues with Arm Corridors on the Roundabout Tool in Vehicle Tracking 2017? I am designing a roundabout that does not need crownlines, so a simple crossfall from the centre. But, the Arms do not model.

If I turn crownlines on it does model.

If I run this same design in Vehicle Tracking 2015, exactly the same way, it does work. The issue is that my latest design has now been saved in Civil 3D 2017 so I can't use my latest alignments in Civil 3D 2015.

I have attached a screengrab for your information.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Dark Elastic,

Is there any chance you can post the drawing and ill have a look. I have done a quick test here and the corridor is working as expected with / without levels and/or Stockdale crown lines.

Hi Nigel,

Did you have any luck testing the design drawing?

Thanks.

Have you installed Vehicle Tracking Service Pack 1 for 2017?

Hi Todd,

Yes I recently installed the update and then started the Roundabout design again to see my issue had been solved, but no luck.

Hi Nigel,

Sorry to chase you on this. Did you manage to review my design drawing?

I can't tie-in my roundabout arms to my road alignments until I can create the corridors.

Thanks again.

Dark Elastic,

I agree it looks like a defect, it has been placed in the backlog.

A work around is to switch on levels and grades, switch off stockdale and then set all cross falls and the tilted plane to 0.0 degrees, this produces a flat roundabout and the corridor with the only level adjustments applied to handling the change in elevation of the incoming roads. You will have to manually select a sensible elevation for the center of the roundabout.

Thanks Nigel,

I have worked through the options and got something to work.

Thanks again for your efforts.

Hi DarkElastic,

Thanks for the info!

The issue can be reproduced on my side.

Could you try following workaround, make sure Draw Leg Crown Lines is not checked when Crown Lines is not checked:

Then Arm Corridor will show.

Hope it helps.

Hi Joanna Zhang,

Thank you for your information, this did allow me to model the arms.

The only issue was that the arms were void of camber (both sides at 0%).

I added this manually and have been able to design the roundabout, so thanks again.
