Modelling transformer haulage vehicle

Can anyone advise if it is possible to model the vehicle shown below as I've been scratching my head and totally failing to get something that works? The link is to a Youtube video of a similar type of vehicle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDLiQWLaQWU

Many thanks

The vehicle can be modeled, see the "Abnormal Load Carrier" in the specialist vehicles library installed with AVT, for a very similar vehicle whos definition you can modify to match your vehicle. From that diagram there are not enough dimensions to define the vehicle or the load, if you only have the details of trailer then use a tractor from a large articulated  design vehicle for your region.

I would adjust the max steering of the tractor so that when the vehicle so that the inside turning of the tractor AND trailer does not exceed 11865 (that looks like when the trailer to load articulation reaches 45degs)

Note you can totally ignore the pushing tractor and toe bar, these last two elements will not effect the performance of the vehicle.

@nigel_peters many thanks for the quick reply.

I was attempting modify the stock vehicle (abnormal load carrier) but got into difficulties with linkage errors - I was also hoping that the rear tractor/tow bar was not necessary (I think it is mainly used for uphill traction and downhill braking assist)...:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have an elevation drawing of the vehicle (with dimensions) so I can add the correct axles/load outlines/body outines etc.

The tow bar on the front tractor seems to be modelled as a trailer rather than a tow bar - any reason for this??

@nigel_peters almost got it working but where do i set the max steering as you suggest above??

Hi @neilyj666 . I know it's a longshot as this discussion was back in 2020, but is there any chance you were able to get the adjusted vehicle profile to work? I'm in the same predicament. Thanks

Had this same model last year. We were able to get it running and it must have been accurate enough as they client took the tested route a few months later. If it comes up again send me a PM, although I won't be able to share the model unless you go through the business, I can at least provide pointers.
