Freeze Layer in PViewport

How do I freeze or thaw a layer in a viewport?
I can create new layers and have them frozen in new viewports using ViewportDefault
set to True. I do not see how I can freeze or thaw a layer given a specific PViewport
object.

Hi Phil,

I just found this:
http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4259243 I don't think
there is anything built into the object model to expose it directly, hence
the pviewport xdata manipulation.

An alternative might be some sort of extension, like something Frank or Tony
mentions here http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?messageID=424580 if
they are still available.
