Automatic Drawing Register

I would like to know if it is possible to create an automatically udpadated drawing register for a number of drawings based on block attributes in the title block using VBA or anything else.

I know about the export attributes but it puts the info from each drawing into seperate files and that's no good to me.

Cheers for any help.

I think you would need to use events to do this.

The change to the block would be captured as an event by your code and would then update something in word or some other program.

To get this this to happen though i think you would need to to have your program running in the background (loaded up on startup or every time you open a drawing) all the time. Events aren't persistent in VBA so i'm told, but there is a work around.

See the replies to a query on events i posted a few days ago for suggestions that seem to work, as far as i can tell (though i have crashed my PC twice in the past day trying to program using events)

Or (thinking quickly) ARUP's have something going within their office called Columbus, that creates information about drawings and updates it, though i haven't spent the time figuring out how it works or what use it is. It may be some use but i don't know.
