Remove file from Vault when removed from Assembly

I think it would be handy to be able to remove a part file from Vault, when the part has been deleted from an assembly in Inventor.  A good example:  Working with Tube & Pipe or Frame Gen, you generate a new part file for each frame member or pipe spool, route etc.  Check these into the Vault, and then in 2 weeks the design changes so you end up blowing parts away from the assemblies.  What you end up with at the end of the project are a bunch of local files that did not get deleted when you checked in the finished product.... as well as a bunch of obsolete parts in Vault that are still checked out form when you were editing.

If you're like me you panic at the idea of blowing any of these away, even though you know logically that they are obsolete.  It would be nice to at least get asked if we want them removed from Vault, at the time they are deleted in Inventor.

I would Concur with this ........to tag on to this it would be nice to have a feature in Vault to tell us how many files are not attached to any assemblies or have no use so a Obsolete process can be run and get rid of dead data in the vault and take up space , even though the first thing out of developer's mouth is you can always buy more SSD's

This is always a issue with me when I finish a large project.  There is always junk files that can be deleted.  This could be a good feature to help clean every thing back up.  I wouldn't want Vault to even ask to delete it if the part/assy was used some other place.  That could be a disaster.

I could use this feature and not only for iam/ipt. If you have an Xref in AutoCAD and then the file is not referenced anymore would be nice to be able to delete it; admin only or maybe another privilege / user.

In Vault 2021, we have implemented the ability to find orphan files in Vault and the user could find and delete the model when needed.
