ReCap Integration

I'm getting a lot of point cloud data but there isn't a great way to store this information. I'm looking forward to a solution where I can 'stream' point cloud data from Vault into AutoCAD or Revit. There would be no need to load every point from the point cloud, just define a window around the area of interest and only that part will go right through.

Also, versioning and revisioning would be VERY useful in ReCap/Vault. For example, someone could go out and scan a site with existing conditions. When the construction is complete, a second scan could be provided as an as-built, registered, and checked back into Vault. The version control / revisioning system would 'stream' the latest version of the point cloud to users who request it.

Sounds like a grand idea @Anonymous, I am in the same boat, Lots of point cloud data from a BLK360 and nowhere to store it securely.  Great idea!

Vault integration would be good, ofthen we do scans multiple times and we can't add them to already checkd in ReCap file, so it would automatically update on Inventor part files where it is attached. We have to make new ReCap project and attach it again.

Our main workflow is based on using point cloud data for designing equipment. When checking parts and assemblies into the Vault the point cloud is brought with it, but only some of the files are linked, and issues arise when other users attempt to open the parts with the attached point cloud data. Not all files are linked, and ReCap has no integration with the Vault to check in data, and so it is very clunky to work with. Please create ReCap Vault integration, and better support of point cloud data in the Vault in general.
