Out of date Visualization files

Hi,

To check that all Visualization attachments (DWF) belonging to a project are up to date, we use Pack And Go to easily get a list of the ones that are out of date. We then manually search for them in Vault, and send them to Job Server Queue.

Many times there are a lot of Visualization files that needs to be updated, and we get a list like the one attached, where we need to collapse each and every line containing DWF. Can you please incorporate a collapse all function?

Better yet, what about a function to send all the files that needs to be updated to the Job Queue?

Best regards

Can you use try using the Advanced Search on the column "Visualization Attachment" and look for the value of "none"? In the results dialog you can multi-select the files and select Update View from the Actions menu.

The functionality I miss, is the ability to find Visualization Attachments that are not up to date.

We use the Job Server for creating the DWF's during Check In from Inventor.

The Advanced Search you suggest seem to only find the files that are missing the Visualization Attachment?

I can also mention that we use the Advanced Search "Visualization Attachment is not System" to identify DWF's which has not been created by the Job Server, and then send them to Job Queue for updating a bunch at a time. (Actions\Update View\Queue Update)

If there could have been an Advanced Search like "Visualization Attachment is Out of Date" or similar, then we could easily update the DWF's for a lot of files in ex. a project before creating the DWF package to send to production. That would help a lot.

Or like I mentioned in the original post, when using Pack and Go  you get a message that you need to use Update View, why not add in the same dialouge a function which sent all the neccessary files for updating automatically?

Hope this comment cleared things up.

You can get this information from the Advanced Search of Visualization Attachment property is none. When a new version of the parent file is updated, no visualization file is attached.
