Job Processor login as alternate User

Job Processor login as alternate User

Hello Everyone,

One function that would be welcomed is having the capability of the Job Processor login on a computer to be different than the user login of of the Vault Client.

This currently seems to be available, but the login of the Vault Client seems to override the permissions of the Job Processor login.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to login as the Admin on multiple Job Processors across >50 computers, while the users on the same computers would login as normally with a completely different set of permissions.

Thanks,

Bryan

Thank you for posting the idea. I am a little confused about your idea.

Are you wanting the login with a different Windows user account so that you can run the Job Processor but allow the user to log in using their Windows account on the same machine?

Hi Irvin,

Yes, the Job Processor login could be the Administrator to permit access to all folders in all vaults.

Then the user would just login with their Windows credentials as normal.

We have folders setup so that only members of certain Groups can write into those folders but anyone within engineering can read from them.

Thanks,

Bryan

We don't recommend that the Job Processor be the Administrator or have administrative rights in Vault. It needs the Read and Modify permissions to the files only.

If there is only one login into Windows by the user, the Job Processor can be run using different Vault credentials.

Hi Irvin,

There was this post from a few months ago, but it didn't seem to function for us:

  Thus the request.

Thanks,

Bryan

If it is not working, please log a product support ticket so that it can be investigated. It should work as described in the Help topic.
