E-mail notification when lifecycle state changes without using the ECO function

Would like to see the function of and e-mail notification in use with the change of the lifecycle state.

We just need the ability to track the lifecycle state changes.  We do not benefit from the ECO process, and it only creates more work.

Would like to see this added as a function inside Autodesk Vault Professional.

I totally agree with this. My previous employer used Solidworks PDM Professional and it has this capability, along with automatic property changes at state changes. (Adding the logged in user as the approver at state changes, for one.) The ECO system has its uses, but for general document approvals just adds more work, primarily because they are two separate, disconnected systems. ECO systems are generally intended for middle to upper management resources tools anyway.

Notifying only the person(s) who need to be notified at state changes is the way to go.
