Automatic PDF generation for non CAD Files

Since a long time, our projects are requesting an automatic PDF generation when a document has been approved. This automatic generation seems possible with CAD files but still not with Office files (Excel, Word mainly). 
It could be interesting to have this automatic generation and having a summary attached/included to/in this pdf to show who have involved in the approval process.

I guess it’s not as easy as it seems. The PDF generation for Inventor works since the so-called Inventor server is included in the Vault client (used for the job processor). Or you install a full Inventor on the job processor machine.

If you want the same thing for MS office, either you would have the requirement that Office must be installed or Autodesk would have to build (or buy?) some kind of “Office server”.

There are 3rd parties who offer the functionality so it is possible. It would be an wonderful addition to the vault office environment. This way you can manage your relevant documents and 3d data in the same place and in the same manner.
