Allow UDPs to have multiline text

Allow UDPs to have multiline text

We use the per Item link properties on change orders for change descriptions of each item.  Please allow the use of carriage return/linefeeds.  We frequently have many details to enter and currently we have to use semicolons or similar to delineate changes.  The detailed description allows multiline, how about text UDPs.

At the moment all text entered into Item properties is restricted to single line text, which is messy when exporting into ERP systems.

It would be great if all standard properties such as Title, Description, and also custom properties could be optionally changed to multi-line text and supported as such in an Export function.

This extends my idea of allowing multiline text for UDPs on Change Orders:

It's very much needed for checking the ECO and ECN properties before the approvals in single view.

User Defined Properties (UDP'S) don't allow for multiple lines or rows of data in Vault. UDP's must allow for multiple rows of data and better formatting capabilities such as Alt-Enter in Excel, Next Row in Microsoft Word, or indentations of lines and bulleting.

The information in a Vault Bill of Material export from Item Master will go into ERP's. Deliverable level or Spares/ Spare Parts List items and files are customer facing and require presentable formatting. Currently, each time the information is exported from Vault and imported to another database, the item/file UDP's such as description or Notes which can be lengthy must be reformatted.

Currently comments is the only spot in Inventor that allows for multiple rows but after its imported to Vault its single row.

Can Autodesk Vault modify the software to allow System Defined Properties (SDP's) and UDP's to have multiple rows of data and better formatting capabilities such as Alt-Enter in Excel, Next Row in Microsoft Word, or indentations of lines and bulleting.

This information is customer facing so it needs presentable formatting. It is a hassle to reformate the same data over and over.

To rub this issue in my face, even this Autodesk thread re-formats this nicely formatted request to one giant blob of text...
