Allow the vault to map custom properties of PDF files

I want to keep PDF files in the vault but also use custom properties.  Currently, you cannot do that.  See below from customer service:

I was able to confirm with development that this is working as design. As Vault does not have a dedicated IFilter for pdf files to map customer properties. To request this feature be added to Vault please post in the Vault Idea Station.

I did test a 3rd party IFilter, this adds a few more property options but does not add custom pdf properties. This behavior works the same in Vault 2016 and 2018.

Hi,

users wish to have the availability that the properties can be included in the published PDF file when they publish it.

So non CAD-users in the network can found the properties inside the PDF document, similar to the iProperties from Inventor.

See the following markup image as an example where the Vault option could be implemented in a future Vault release.

This would be a great feature! We use Bluebeam Revu and I can create custom properties for the PDF files. I can't map them in Vault though. We keep our PDF files for drawings in Vault. This seems like a basic function that should be available. Please add asap!

The PDF option is not available as property provider on my system. Both using 2024.2 and 2024.2.1

Do I need to do/configure something to make this active?

Yes, that's what I was expecting but it isn't showing up.

Both server and client are on 2024.2.1
