working folder / folder permissions

Hey

A question i have been asked. We use various contractors for our line of drafting work and now that we have Vault, we would like to make sure all of our projects are kept and maintained in the Vault. However, we dont necessarily want to give our contractors full access to all of the project files or at least, we would like to prevent them downloading files that are not part of the specific project they are working on for us.

Is this even possible? We have Basic ATM but would look to upgrade if more options were available

thanks

Hi NachoUK

Yes can be done but not with Vault basic. if you upgrade to Vault Pro you will have the option of a webclient and integration with cloud projects, from here you can restrict what contractors and clients can see within your Vault.

With the Webclient you can restrict folder and file access using standard Vault permissions with lifecycles and roles.

If you link your Vault to Fusion Team/Bim360 or A360 you can choose to upload released files when they hit a released state.

Have a chat with your local reseller about the collaboration benefits of Vault Pro, i have personally set this up a number of times for clients and it has helped them out a lot while collaborating with clients.

Cheers
